8th/9th Grade OWLs

Meets Sunday’s during service from 10 – 11:30am in room 202.

OWL stands for Our Whole Lives and is a comprehensive science and values-based sexuality education program created by the Unitarian Universalist Association in collaboration with the United Church of Christ. It’s called Our Whole Lives because we are sexual beings our whole lives! There are many different levels of OWL, from the littlest kids learning about bodies, families, and safety to elders learning about sexuality in the later part of life.

Our flagship program is the 7th-9th grade program designed for youth to explore topics such as anatomy, consent, dating, safer sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and more. The program is led by facilitators who have gone through training specific to the OWL program. It is designed to be inclusive and supportive of all gender identities and sexual orientations. Though it is definitely values based and we will reference Unitarian Universalism, it is not a particularly religious program. You can read more on the UUA website.

If you have any question or are interesting in having your youth attend this program, please reach out to Rev. Annie Gonzalez at ministerfaithdev@uubedford.org.
