Choosing to Be Queer

Rev. Annie Gonzalez

“…queer as being about the self that is at odds with everything around it and that has to invent and create and find a place to speak and to thrive and to live.”
– Bell Hooks

In a society that is simultaneously more queer and more homo/transphobic than years previous, how can we choose queerness, regardless of our own orientations? We’ll explore narratives of authentic self and celebrate those who charted the way and those who are changing the landscape in this Pride service. We will also hear about Lawyers for Civil Rights, June’s Share the Plate recipient.

A recording of the service is available at the link below.
