Purpose of this Document
To document the purpose, function and lighting system for the Wayside Pulpit.
WAYSIDE PULPIT
Located on the Common near the intersection of Elm and The Great Road, the Pulpit is a roadside communique for the Parish. With a compartment to post a message, frequently a quotation, that is changed regularly, often weekly. In the UU culture it’s not unusual for folks to post new thoughts and inspirations without prompt. And posts are typically welcoming, scriptural, philosophical, spiritual, or otherwise up-lifting.
The compartment is accessed through the back panel, hinged on the bottom, held closed by two latches at its top.
Lighting
The Pulpit is illuminated by a single lighting fixture controlled by a timer.
See the Exterior Lighting section for more information.
